An established part of the Security Organisation is the Counter Intelligence (CI) Section. A rare opportunity has become available to join the CI Section as a CI Personnel Security and Vetting Officer, a position which has responsibility for supporting the delivery of the HMNB Clyde Personnel Security, Vetting and Insider Threat programmes which are focussed on protecting all staff and contractors within the establishment from threats, including terrorism, espionage, sabotage, subversion or serious and organised crime (TESSOC). Working in the CI Section you will be part of a busy, dedicated and professional team of CI Officers. This post will have individual responsibilities for supporting the Personnel Security and Insider Threat programme and for delivering a Security Vetting and Screening Check service at HMNB Clyde. In addition, the post holder will work with a wide range of internal and external security and intelligence staff whilst providing guidance and advice on all Personnel Security and Security Vetting matters at HMNB Clyde. Job Description - Responsibilities Provision of direct personnel security support to CI Casework Officers to mitigate and counter TESSOC threats and insider risks. Deliver an effective Vetting and Screening Service. Support the identification and evaluation of high-risk personnel at HMNB Clyde, ensuring those in highly sensitive roles are known and monitored by CI Officers. Collation, verifying and processing of Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and vetting documents and corresponding security clearance documentation. Check and verify security questionnaire documentation, verify and check identity documents and investigate discrepancies. Liaise with United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and other Security and Intelligence stakeholders on Personnel Security and clearance matters. Provide assistance to Unit Security Officers, Line Managers and subjects with regards to their security vetting and aftercare responsibilities. Ensure that security vetting casework is managed in accordance with priorities. Manage the impact of UKSV Security Restriction requirements and advise CI Casework Officers accordingly. Liaison with MOD Police for undertaking background checks and for maintaining records and reporting results. Responsible for undertaking screening checks of contractors entering HMNB Clyde. Assist with the development of Sensitive Post Analysis.
