Commissioning Engineer Position
Wood Digital Consulting (DC) is currently recruiting for a Commissioning Engineer to support one of our UK projects. This is a hybrid role that can be based anywhere in the UK. Mobility and travel to customer sites and face-to-face meetings with colleagues will be expected as required, followed by site-based work for the main construction execution phase.
Must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical and Instrumentation Controls background in site commissioning with demonstrable experience.
2. Demonstrate commitment to safety through engagement in:
1. Commissioning Permit to Work
2. Electrical Isolation
3. Safety Work Manuals to ensure efficient and safe execution of the work.
3. Provide input in the field to:
1. JSA's
2. Risk Assessments.
4. Monitor workforce's adherence to procedures and participate in safety walks; attend toolbox meetings.
5. Be conversant with construction/commissioning mechanical completion technology.
6. Have strong competency in reading design documentation, including:
1. P&IDs
2. PFDs
3. Mechanical datasheets etc.
7. Ability to deliver documentation that is technically correct to the required standard and schedule.
8. Understand and control the running of work sites.
9. Experience in industries such as Oil and Gas.
10. Must have experience in at least one of the following:
1. Ability to determine pass/fail criteria on UPS testing (ITIC), generators, and Switchgear.
2. Control narratives.
3. Compressor commissioning/startup.
4. Turbine commissioning/startup.
11. Experience in Brownfield upgrades/replacement instrumentation and control projects.
12. Experience with dealing with:
1. Switch Rooms
2. Switchboards
3. Distribution Boards
4. Lighting
5. UPS
6. Instruments
7. Cable runs
8. Control rooms, etc.
13. Compressor Station/Metering experience is advantageous.
14. Must have working knowledge of substations and power systems/quality and their associated protection systems such as:
1. Overcurrent
2. Unit protection
3. A thorough understanding of harmonics, etc.
15. Must have working knowledge of one or more of the following (Flow Computer & Supervisory):
1. Emerson
2. Siemens
3. Swinton
4. Omni
5. FlowX
6. EXI
7. Honeywell (DCS/Meter suite)
8. PLCs
16. Measurement Technologies, Metering Systems, Flow Computers, PLC & SCADA Systems/Software.
17. Strong communication skills.
18. Prior experience reviewing commissioning/construction works.
19. Well organized and have a keen eye for detail.
20. Able to operate in an integrated team environment supporting others with a desire and ability to build trust and respect throughout the team.
21. Computer literacy: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel minimum).
