Job summary
We are looking for an Receptionist/Administrator to join our friendly practice on a permanent basis.
You will work as part of the Densham/Dovecot surgery, which is made up of 4 GP partners, a Practice Nurse, two Health Care Assistants and Administerial Staff.
We are a medical training practice and you will also work alongside GP Registrars.
Part time and full time applications will be considered.

You will be expected to undertake all of the duties generally associated with the role of Receptionist/Administrator in a GP Practice.

Job responsibilities
Main Duties
1. Operate day to day duties on the computerised appointment system
2. Receive patients and make appointments with doctors, nurses, and attached primary care staff
3. Make remote appointment bookings into the 7 Day Enhanced Access Service, H&SH
4. Answer the telephone and deal with appointments and enquiries
5. Accept requests for and hand out prescriptions
6. Register patients for SytmOnline services
7. Gain patients' data sharing consent status, re New Model of Share - SystmOne
8. Accept path lab samples and complete appropriate path lab forms to be sent to North Tees Pathology Laboratory
9. Request pathology tests via electronic ICE requesting service
10. Undertake admin duties around INR finger prick testing
11. Record and send pathology samples to North Tees Pathology Laboratory
12. Book interpreters and liaising with patients
13. Set up electronic referrals to community services, phlebotomy, District Nursing, etc.
14. Open incoming internal mail in the morning, date stamp it, and place in doctors' trays.
15. Deal with outgoing post - external mail
16. Deal with cash receipts
17. Give out results to patients via Pathology Links after 3pm
18. Manage your personal NHS Mail account
19. Assist secretaries with patient related queries regarding hospital appointments
20. File sets
21. Process repeat prescriptions in line with the practices' repeat prescribing protocol (ETP)
22. Scan incoming internal mail to clinicians, using electronic document workflow
23. Enter data onto clinical system, ensuring quality data input in line with current read code guidelines
