Job summary We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual, who would like to gain experience in the speciality of occupational health nursing. The duties involve the assessment of new employees, immunisation clinics, health surveillance, and the provision of health promotion activities as required within a busy department. You will be a nurse registered with the NMC, with a comprehensive range of post registration experience. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously, as well as within a team. The successful applicant will work alongside the Senior Occupational Health Nurse Advisors, Occupational Health Manager and other clinical and non-clinical colleagues in order to ensure quality of service provision. Although the post will be mainly based at St Woolos Hospital in Newport the successful applicant will be required to work across other sites within the University Health Board, with some travel during the working day, according to the needs of the service. Deliver immunisation programmes Co-ordinate and carry out health surveillance programmes e.g. spirometry, skin assessments. Support the occupational physician during clinical sessions.
