The role of Junior DevOps Engineer:
We are looking to add a Junior DevOps Engineer to our experienced and dynamic DevOps team. The team comprises creative and results-focused individuals whose diverse backgrounds bring technology and expertise together from various disciplines, making this a great environment to learn and develop within!
What You do as a Junior DevOps Engineer:
As the Junior DevOps Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain applications, infrastructure, and CI/CD systems, collaborating with development and IT to ensure efficient software delivery and integration, whilst building your skills in the DevOps field.
How you will do it:
You will possess good I.T. skills, and possibly some pre-existing DevOps skills. Your collaborative approach to work and an enthusiastic can-do attitude will shine through. Your appetite for development will ensure you embrace the hands on experience available to you from colleagues in the team. Coupled with the multitude of exciting technologies and stacks ranging from on-prem SAN to AWS cloud available.
Experience:
Knowledge of source control and build pipelines (ideally Perforce and TeamCity, but alternatives will be fine)
Understanding of AWS, including compute, storage, networking, and database services
Basic experience in scripting languages, including but not limited to Python, Bash, Powershell
Theoretical understanding of IaC tools and concepts
Linux (Ubuntu / Debian) CLI understanding, and basic Windows knowledge
Basic knowledge of Unity and/or Unreal would be a benefit in this role
The Interview Process
The interview process for the Junior DevOps Engineer role is made up of 2 stages: -
First interview (45 minutes) – Introduction and understanding of your background with Mark Chamberlain (DevOps hiring Manager], and Ben Nias (IT Director)
Second interview: (60 minutes) - Technical interview with Mark Chamberlain, ahead of which you will receive a Microsoft Forms questionnaire to complete, which will form the basis for the conversation
