Our Wealth and Personal Banking business supports millions of individuals, families, business owners, investors and entrepreneurs worldwide. We provide products and services that include current accounts, credit cards, personal loans and mortgages, as well as savings, investments, insurance and wealth management. We also have specialised relationship managers who support customers with bespoke requirements, including high net worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
We are looking for an experienced candidate to fill the position of Head of Planning and Performance in Unsecured Lending. This position will form part of the leadership team. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical and presentation skills to provide clear insights and recommendations. Key responsibilities include developing the Unsecured Lending Strategy and ensuring its effective implementation. The role also involves managing the central transformation budgets to support growth and enhance customer outcomes. Additionally, the candidate will oversee scheme relationships and provide strategic updates to senior management, including regular reviews of business performance and profit and loss (P&L).
In this role you will:
* Planning & Cost Management: Creating and measuring the Strategic Business Objectives (SBO), Financial Resource Plan (FRP), and investment asks for Unsecured Lending as well as ensuring costs are in line with budget allocations across direct and indirect cost lines.
* Transformation: Own the central Unsecured Lending (USL) change and transformation budgets, prioritising these to deliver against the USL strategy and customer outcomes.
* Strategic Updates: Provide updates to senior management, including Executive Committees and Leadership, trading performance forums and market reviews.
* Scheme management: Manage the relationship and relevant financials with scheme partners (Visa and Mastercard).
* Leadership and people management: Mentor, motivate and develop other team members while influencing stakeholders at all levels to help deliver change and improvement.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
* Prior experience within Unsecured Payments is essential coupled with strong knowledge of Credit and Debit Cards.
* Familiarity with managing profit and loss accounts is preferred but not mandatory. A solid grasp of financial budgets, statements, and models is necessary, along with the ability to analyse data for planning and reporting.
* Must have a successful background in leading teams to deliver excellent customer service and finding new ways to enhance service.
* Strong stakeholder / relationship management skills coupled with proven success in implementing change and managing complex projects is important along with the ability to use the right tools to measure success.
* An understanding of risk management and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations for yourself and others is required.
This role could be based in either Birmingham, Sheffield, Chester or Leeds.
