Description
I am currently working with an established transport planning team that spans across 3 offices to find a Transport Planner with at least 2 years Development Planning experience.
Your role will be to deliver your own Travel Plans, Transport Assessments, Access Appraisals and Junction Models to a variety of clients in sectors such as Residential, Commercial, Sports & Leisure and much more.
You will be joining a team of over 25 that are based in the consultancies Fareham, Oxford and Cambridge and you can be based out of any of the three offices. You will be able to further develop your skillset surrounded by a wealth of experience and you'll be given full support and training to deliver the development planning schemes.
Transport Planner Requirements
1. Degree level qualification or equivalent
2. At least 2 years transport planning experience, ideally exploring membership at a professional organisation
3. Working knowledge of relevant design guidance & awareness of relevant local planning policies
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to respond efficiently to demands at a high standard
5. Ability to prioritise workload, work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative
6. Experience of working with computer based systems including Microsoft programmes
7. Experience using AutoCAD, TRICs and modelling software
Transport Planner Responsibilities
8. Lead and manage small - medium sized projects, including budget and time management, delegating where appropriate with input from senior colleagues
9. Write and occasionally check Transport Assessments/Statements, Technical Notes, Travel Plans, Access Appraisals etc.
10. Good understanding of modelling packages, and methodologies to calculate trip generation and distributions
11. Ability to complete / review of planning drawing requirements, such as visibility splays, vehicle tracking diagrams, access designs etc.
12. Undertake site visits independently and provide professional opinions accordingly, particularly to inform scheme development at early stages of projects
13. Attendance at project team, client and Local Highway Authority meetings
14. Help preparing material for and attendance at Public Consultations
15. Development of good personal and company working relationships with architects/planners/local highways officers
16. Complete fee proposals for small to medium projects and input into larger sites where required
