Who You Are
* Experienced Deputy Team Manager in Safeguarding/Permanence
* Proven track record in managing social work teams and legal proceedings
* Robust understanding of young people’s journey through the care system
* Skilled in promoting stable placements and implementing long-term changes
* Ability to support high-performance culture and consistent good practice
* Capable of making decisions, chairing meetings, and partnering with multi-agencies
* Strong advocate for young people to secure necessary services
* Competent in recruitment, induction, training, and supervision of team members
* Practice Educator
* Available to start within the next 3 weeks
* Preferably local with availability for on-site work at least 3 days per week
What the Job Involves
* Assist the Team Manager in managing, developing, and leading the social work team
* Safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable children, young people, and their families
* Ensure delivery of high-quality services that lead to improved outcomes
* Support and supervise team members, including conducting annual Performance and Development Reviews
* Jointly prioritize and allocate work within the team with the Team Manager
* Maintain team performance against targets and performance indicators
* Effectively manage sickness absence and under-performance
* Manage complaints and ensure health and safety policies compliance
* Conduct case audits and quality assurance of front-line practice
* Plan and deliver team development days, meetings, and training events
* Manage client information data in accordance with GDPR and confidentiality obligations
* Engage in risk management and recommend improved working methods
* Foster effective collaborative working partnerships to achieve positive outcomes
* Promote innovative best practices within the team and the service
* Model effective communication and inclusive practices
* Maintain knowledge and professional expertise through Continuous Professional Development
* Obtain regular professional supervision for effective and reflective practice
* Participate in Performance and Development Reviews and undertake agreed learning opportunities
* Efficiently manage allocated workload through appropriate prioritization and time management
