SEMH Mentors
Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced mentor to help support two groups of NEETs with SEMH needs.
I am looking for an individual who can support students in building resilience, developing social skills, and fostering independence. Someone who can build connections with further education providers and offer guidance on career skills and someone who is able to provide guidance that promotes positive social-emotional development and engagement.
Some of the things you will be required to do is:
- Action planning for individual needs
- Teaching self-regulation techniques and coping strategies
- Explore suitable career options, identify relevant courses, providers, or job opportunities and develop effective CVs and refine interview techniques
- Build trusting, motivational relationships
- Guide students in goal setting and behavioural improvement
- Help reintegrate students after any extended absences or exclusions
CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS
- Location - Kingston, London
- Position - SEMH Mentor
- Start date - January 2025
- Duration / Likely Duration - 24 weeks
- Contract type - Temporary
- Full time/part time - Part time
- Minimum rate of pay - to be discussed
- Hours - 09:30 - 15:00, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive SEN experience is mandatory
- 6 months+ experience working in a UK school or teaching the UK Curriculum
- Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
