We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Senior Finance Manager to join our high performing team.

Financial Controller / Finance Director
LOCATION:
Based in Newry, Co. Down
CONTRACT TYPE:
Fixed Term Contract (12 months - maternity cover)
HOURS:
Monday - Friday 40 hours per week with early finish on Fridays
Role Responsibilities
* Ensure accurate and timely billing of costs to the client and achieve cash collection targets.
* Supervise the Accounts Payable team to ensure costs are captured accurately, prompt issue resolution, and timely payments to suppliers within agreed credit terms.
* Lead period-end processes in line with group timetables.
* Prepare monthly and annual accounts, accruals and prepayments, journal entries, and month-end reconciliations.
* Ensure costs are accurately accrued within each period and oversee/maintain accurate processes and records to manage plant, material, and subcontract ledgers, and expense payments.
* Issue cost reports to commercial team in advance of CVR meetings.
* Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings, including RCT and PAYE.
* Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
* Support external audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
* Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory financial statements.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the finance function.
* Perform any other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
The Candidate
Qualifications & Experience:
* A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in industry, with at least 1 to 2 years of team management experience.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
* Experience using ERP's and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
* A relevant accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is required.
