The Opportunity - Commissioning Engineer:
Our client is experiencing growth and is looking for a skilled Commissioning Engineer to join their Infrastructure - Water North team. This role will involve working on diverse projects in the beautiful regions of Yorkshire. As a vital member of the Project Team, you will manage the commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and public health services effectively and efficiently.
Key Accountabilities - Commissioning Engineer:
Review tender documentation thoroughly, focusing on design and commissionability, while preparing all necessary submission documents related to commissioning and handover.
Participate in detailed commissioning reviews during the design stage, assessing mechanical and electrical specifications, drawings, schematics, equipment selections, and technical submittals to identify potential installation or commissioning challenges.
Assist in preparing detailed commissioning procedures, plans, and strategies.
Work closely with Project Teams, Building Services Managers/Engineers, Clients, Consultants, and Services Subcontractors to ensure smooth communication and project execution.
Attend commissioning meetings and provide insights to enhance project outcomes.
Review subcontractor commissioning method statements and offer constructive feedback as needed.
Prepare weekly progress reports and monthly status updates, highlighting any potential issues.
Conduct site visits before planned commissioning to ensure installations and the building are ready.
Organise and facilitate Client/Consultant witnessing of successful commissioning, ensuring all sign-offs are completed.
Liaise with relevant Statutory Authorities to ensure compliance and sign-off.
Compile all mechanical and electrical commissioning documentation for Operations & Maintenance manuals.
Assist in organising and facilitating Client systems demonstrations, ensuring all sign-offs are achieved.
Address any commissioning or snagging issues post-practical completion throughout the defects liability period. Competency Requirements - Commissioning Engineer:
A friendly approach with excellent communication skills.
Strong knowledge of commissioning processes.
Proficient computer skills.
Willingness to travel as required.
A proactive, can-do attitude. Technical/Professional Expertise and Qualifications - Commissioning Engineer:
A professional qualification is desirable.
