Description: This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the North East's highest-profile manufacturing plants as we are expanding our operations at our battery manufacturing plant in Sunderland. We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Project Management Office team to support the development and operation of a world-class and innovative new manufacturing facility. This is a unique opportunity to join one of the most exciting, large scale industrial developments in many years, where new and emerging technologies will be adopted in support of the rapidly growing electric vehicle marketplace.
Mission & Main Objectives:
* The Project Engineer will be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines that projects involve. You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
* Inward and outward facing role providing a direct link between customers and project teams; understanding and communicating customer requirements for product and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Working as part of the project management team, delivering current and future projects.
* Responsible for coordinating successful delivery of allocated projects, from customer engagement to Start of Production (SOP), and continuing into the operational post-SOP phases.
* The successful candidate will have broad-based experience in manufacturing and be able to demonstrate proven skills in the application of project coordination and management.
* Ensure accountability and ownership is understood throughout all functions.
* Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor progress of the assigned projects.
* Monitor compliance to applicable procedures, standards and working practices (e.g. APQP, IATF, Gate Reviews).
* Review deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions where necessary.
* Lead internal and external review meetings to monitor project progress across all functions to ensure critical path and risk items are identified, understood and managed.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field of study.
* Project management / project engineering / project planning experience.
* Experience Working with Tier 1 / Automotive Customers beneficial.
* Experience in change management and adapting to reactive and proactive change scenarios.
* Ability to lead and aide decision making throughout the project lifecycle.
* Proven experience working cross functionally across multiple departments.
* Proven experience working with suppliers, customers and project stakeholders.
