The Audit Team:
Our team provides a full range of audit services to the Council, Kirklees Active Leisure, and West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service. Due to retirement, we require an experienced and capable individual who can make an immediate contribution to our team by carrying out a wide range of audits to professional standards.
The Role:
We are looking for someone to undertake high-level audits within all areas of the Audit Plan, plus special investigations and other ad hoc pieces of work as necessary. You will also be expected, on occasions, to supervise, direct, and motivate other staff in carrying out their work as allocated.
Ideally, you will be AAT, IIA, or at least part CCAB qualified with strong IT system experience. More importantly, you must be able to demonstrate the ability, through experience, to work at Senior Finance Officer level. You will therefore have experience of analysing data and presenting detailed evaluations for consideration by management.
You will need to deliver a high-quality Internal Audit service. You will be able to evaluate financial and management information quickly and accurately, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong literacy and numeracy skills, and be able to adapt easily to using new packages/IT systems.
Of particular importance is your ability to deliver audit assignments, including keeping all appropriate records and producing clear and concise written outputs, within agreed time limits in accordance with the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards.
