HMP Dovegate is a category B male establishment prison based on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border near Uttoxeter.
You will be an inspiring tutor with a background in education and ideally will have had some experience of working within your specialist area of English and/or Maths. Good technical knowledge and skills are essential. Experience of working with learners from non-traditional backgrounds would also be beneficial. You will be gifted in delivering varied, high quality and imaginative sessions and have a record of good retention and success rates. You will be delivering Functional Skills in work-based areas and experience of Outreach working would be an advantage.
Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materials, writing schemes of work and mentoring.
Playing an active role in the marketing of the provision; you will record and monitor key data including but not limited to: retention, achievement and success rates.

Experience:
6. Have proven experience of working in an environment that demands strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
7. Have demonstrated flexibility and the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
8. Recent experience and appropriate knowledge.
9. Experience of a custodial environment would be an advantage
10. Experience of working with learners from non-traditional backgrounds
11. Good technical knowledge and skills
