You will have a background in musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice with proven clinical skills demonstrated across one or more of healthcare, community and sport and exercise settings. In this key role, you will spearhead prehabilitation and rehabilitation initiatives, conduct thorough assessments, and deliver customised treatments to diverse patient groups across various clinical populations and members of our university community. Your contributions will extend beyond clinical practice, encompassing pivotal involvement in service development, student mentoring, and research activities, aligning with our commitment to research-informed practice. The role will have a focus on supporting the delivery of clinical physiotherapy services. We also expect there to be some contribution towards student professional practice development for our pre- and post-registration physiotherapy and sports science students. The post will be supported by the MoveWell Centre Manager and Lab Manager, and the post-holder will be expected to foster a close working relationship with professionals from the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences. Main Duties You will contribute across a range of activities in the School: Develop and deliver physiotherapy services tailored to various clinical groups. Lead a multi-disciplinary team in providing evidence-based practice from assessment through to pre/rehabilitation. Engage in service development and leadership, continually enhancing clinic offerings and service delivery. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the university and beyond, contributing to our reputation as a centre of excellence for health research. Engage in service development and leadership, continually enhancing clinic offerings and service delivery which includes a concussion clinic and student-led physiotherapy clinic. Mentor junior staff and students, fostering an environment of learning and professional growth. Drive revenue generation through innovative service offerings and patient/client satisfaction. Assist with the clinical research and data collection that will be working alongside clinical activity. One of the roles will have additional leadership responsibilities leading the physiotherapy clinical activity. Person Specification Essential Qualified physiotherapist holding current HCPC registration and relevant insurance indemnity such as CSP. An MSc qualification or is working towards one. Significant post-registration clinical experience (minimum 5 years) including the management of patients in one of the identified areas of focus within physiotherapy (i.e. musculoskeletal and sports related injuries or any of the identified areas of healthcare conditions in the role overview), with a strong focus on pre/rehabilitation and/or injury assessment – including the management of sports related concussion. Demonstrated commitment to quality enhancement in physiotherapy practice. Demonstrated capability in service development and leadership within a clinical setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage with diverse client groups. A commitment to research-informed practice and continuous professional development. Good verbal and written skills; able to communicate complex clinical information in a clear and logical manner to patients, colleagues and other health care professional concerning a wide range of clinical situations. Evidence of commitment to advanced clinical and non-clinical CPD e.g. post registration training, management competencies, and evidence of detailed personal development portfolio. Able to undertake clinical analysis and reasoning skills in clinical assessment and treatment and apply broad standards and guidelines to own practice. Able to demonstrate ability to select and apply treatment option for a range of clinical presentations including functional assessment and exercise prescription. Management Administration Ability to contribute to clinic management/administration processes including clinical/service evaluation.
