The Governors of Sherdley Primary School wish to appoint a Learning Assistant to support a child with a SEND need within Early Years & KS1. This post is temporary and is linked to continued funding. Applicants MUST have SEN experience.
The candidate ideally should have at least two years’ work experience in a primary school setting and have worked with children with complex needs. Candidates should possess the aptitude and desire to support the delivery of quality education and have high aspirations for children with Special Educational Needs.
The role will consist of:
· Supporting pupils with complex needs
· Provide structured programmes to support learning for pupils
· Communicating with parents
· Preparing and maintaining teaching resources
· Assist in a high quality of provision of welfare for all pupils

Personal Qualities:
The applicant should be experienced, hard-working, enthusiastic, adaptable, able to show initiative and be part of a team. We are looking for someone who is has a calm, patient, and reflective manner. The successful candidate should have high expectations of themselves and our children. You must be a caring, responsible person who works well in a team. You must have an understanding of SEND within a school setting and have some experience of working with neurodiverse children displaying social communication difficulties and autism.
