Yard Operations Team Leader
We are seeking a Yard Operations Team Leader to manage and oversee site operations, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures at our site in Glasgow.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
13. Monitor the organisation of the yard, flow of vehicles and housekeeping of the site
14. Ensure the loading and unloading of transporters and the moving of vehicles between locations are carried out in accordance with health and safety standards
15. To ensure all colleagues complete their tasks to the appropriate standard within the required timescale
16. Providing excellent customer service and support to both clients and suppliers and deal with any issues or concerns in an effective manner
17. Adhere to Health & Safety and company guidelines, and to maintain a safe and efficient working environment
18. Responsible for site security, site maintenance and alarm maintenance
19. Assist with providing advice to employees and liaising with other departments
20. Manage employees on a daily basis, including managing leave, sickness and holidays, training and mentoring joiners, assisting with employee issues, and ensuring all employees have the correct safety equipment and tools are in good working order
21. To attend site if call outs required resolving any issues appropriately
22. To order fuel, oil when required and sign off stationary requests
23. Support continual recruitment and development of Yard colleagues and new recruits
24. Report to and work with the environmental agency to ensure all guidelines are adhered to
25. Identify training needs and book appropriate course/ Forklift courses when required
26. Accountable for all the banking/money from the site
27. Complete incident and accident reports
28. To ensure all personal protective equipment is available
29. Carry out weekly site checks and update site diary
30. Support the team to maintain its ISO27001 registration
Here’s what you bring:
31. Ability to lead a team and maximise performance
32. Full Driving License
33. Good knowledge of health and safety regulation
34. Forklift truck license – rough terrain (advantageous)
35. Basic literacy and numeracy
36. Mechanical, Metal Recycling or vehicle maintenance qualification (advantageous)
This role is subject to a satisfactory DBS, Finance, Right to work and reference checks.
