We are seeking a passionate and motivated ECT English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Braintree. This full-time, permanent role is an excellent opportunity for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to develop their teaching skills in a supportive and high-achieving environment.
As an ECT English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons, helping students to develop their literary analysis, creative writing, and communication skills. You will receive mentorship and professional development, ensuring a strong foundation for your teaching career.
This role is ideal for an Early Career Teacher looking to establish themselves in English education, with access to structured induction support and ongoing training.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging and interactive English lessons, aligned with the national curriculum.
2. Teach literary analysis, creative writing, grammar, and communication skills.
3. Inspire students to develop a love for literature and strong written and verbal communication skills.
4. Support students in preparing for GCSE and A-Level English examinations.
5. Use creative and inclusive teaching strategies to engage learners of all abilities.
6. Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the English curriculum.
7. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support.
8. Promote positive behaviour management strategies to encourage student engagement.
9. Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or ECT status.
2. A strong knowledge of the English curriculum, including GCSE and A-Level standards.
3. Experience in a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential.
4. A passion for teaching literature and language in an engaging way.
5. Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
6. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
