I am working with a highly successful and growing business operating in the life sciences sector. They are looking for an experienced Shipping/Invoicing Administrator to join their team following a recent retirement.
You will be responsible for ensuring the timely exportation of goods via freight forwarders and raising invoices and credit notes using Sage 200, working closely with both the Production & Accounts departments.
Daily tasks are likely to include:
1. Upon receipt of file from Production, arrange shipment of goods through preferred/most cost effective method
2. Negotiate shipping prices from freight forwarders
3. Work with key colleagues to ensure clear and efficient shipping and customs clearance
4. Manage the return of goods when required
5. Implement any improvements to the current shipping procedure
6. Communicate with customers when necessary to ensure efficient shipping to their schedule
7. Communicate in a timely manner to the Finance & Operations Administrator or Production manager any issues that may affect the shipping process
8. Monitor and take action to correct any poorly paying customers
9. Ensure that all customer invoices in query with accounts are dealt with in a timely manner
10. Assist with inputting sales orders during other staff absences
11. Identify new freight forwarders in line with business requirements
12. Review supplier freight forwarder performance and implement appropriate improvement programmes
13. Ensure compliance with ISO9001:2008
Ideally, you will have the following skill set and experience:
1. Experience of exporting goods globally
2. Strong communicator with good interpersonal skills
3. Knowledge of Sage 200 would be advantageous
The role is offered on a 37.5 hour week basis, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £24-27,000 DOE, plus 25 days holiday and generous pension.
