We are currently recruiting for an HR Assistant/Officer to join our HR team at our Rogerstone site. This role is dedicated to managing absence-related cases, ensuring that attendance procedures are effectively monitored and applied consistently across the business.
Reporting directly to the Lead HR Business Partner, you will play a key role in absence management, supporting managers and employees with clear guidance on company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and monitor absence cases, ensuring accurate tracking of all sickness and attendance records.
* Provide advice and guidance to managers on absence policies, including return-to-work processes and escalation of short term absences.
* Attend absence management meetings, providing HR support and ensuring best practices are followed.
* Analyse absence trends and provide reports and insights to HR and management to help drive improvement in attendance.
* Maintain accurate and compliant HR records in line with GDPR and company policies.
* Support occupational health referrals and liaise with relevant stakeholders to facilitate a proactive approach to employee wellbeing.
About You:
* Previous experience in an HR role with a focus on absence management and employee relations.
* Ability to confidently handle difficult conversations, providing sensitive yet firm guidance on absence-related matters.
* Strong knowledge of employment law related to absence, sickness, and reasonable adjustments.
* Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a busy caseload and meet deadlines.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels.
* Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) is desirable.
