Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
Pay Rate: £12.00 (PAYE) / £14.41 (Umbrella/Ltd)
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Pod Advisor to join our team in the Vale of Glamorgan Council. You will work as part of the Advice POD, a one-stop shop offering essential support services to local residents. These services include helping individuals with benefit forms, financial management, digital skills, and more. The role aims to support clients in accessing employability services and upskilling opportunities.
As a Pod Advisor, you will be responsible for your own caseload, providing advice, guidance, and motivation to clients. You will help them develop the skills needed to progress into other council services such as Adult Community Learning and employability services.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Advice POD Coordinator in delivering core services.
Maintain accurate client data and records in line with GDPR and council compliance requirements.
Provide holistic advice and guidance to clients, focusing on building confidence and improving employability.
Assist clients with digital support and online applications, such as benefit and housing forms.
Work in partnership with other stakeholders in the community to offer tailored support.
Travel to outreach centres to engage with harder-to-reach individuals.
Identify training needs for individuals and groups, and assist in providing relevant training.
Follow council policies regarding confidentiality, safeguarding, equality, and health and safety.
Skills and Experience
Strong digital skills, including knowledge of Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Experience working with vulnerable adults, particularly those facing barriers to work or training.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and holistically, supporting clients through complex issues.
