Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Bioinformatics Scientist with expertise in structural bioinformatics and protein biochemistry to support our genetic therapy development. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to analyze high-throughput biological datasets, develop computational models, and use structural predictions to guide the engineering of innovative therapeutic proteins. Your work will directly contribute to translating computational insights into experimental breakthroughs, driving the development of novel treatments for genetic diseases.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with experimental biologists to design and analyze high-throughput data for genetic therapy and protein engineering projects (e.g., sequencing, proteomics, high-content assays).
* Develop and optimize bioinformatics pipelines to integrate and visualize diverse biological data.
* Utilize predictive modeling tools for protein and nucleic acid structure to guide the design of engineered therapeutic proteins.
* Support the experimental validation of computational models, focusing on enzymatic activity, binding interactions, and immunogenic properties.
* Apply statistical and computational methods to analyze large-scale datasets and inform experimental strategies.
* Create clear and effective data visualizations to communicate complex research results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Maintain and curate comprehensive databases related to protein structures, sequences, and experimental outcomes.
* Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in bioinformatics, molecular modeling, and genetic therapy.
* Contribute to scientific publications, patent filings, and present findings at conferences and internal meetings.
Qualifications:
* Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field with a strong focus on biological data analysis.
* Experience in developing computational methods for analyzing large-scale biological datasets (e.g., sequencing, proteomics).
* In-depth understanding of protein biochemistry, including structural analysis and molecular biology.
* Proficiency in protein structure modeling and computational design using tools like AlphaFold.
* Strong Python programming skills with experience in bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., Biopython, BLAST, HMMER, NCBI, Ensembl).
* Expertise in statistical analysis and data visualization using Python and/or R.
* Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
* Excellent communication skills for presenting complex findings clearly.
Desirable:
* Experience in designing and interpreting experimental workflows.
* Familiarity with machine learning techniques in computational biology, particularly using frameworks like PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
* Experience with cloud-based computing and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP).
