What you will do:
1. Input to the regulatory reporting areas of the Audit Universe and the annual planning for regulatory reporting audits.
2. Execute the regulatory reporting audit plan and report findings in a timely manner.
3. Work independently producing terms of reference, planning, testing and producing audit reports to provide assurance that significant business risks associated with Regulatory reporting are identified and appropriately controlled.
4. Use a range of audit techniques to deliver audit work, including data analytics.
5. Provide an independent view of the effectiveness of processes and controls and the interpretation of regulatory guidance.
6. Build and maintain open communication with management and an understanding of business activities through attendance at applicable risk forums.
7. Keep up to date with industry developments and regulatory pronouncements and reporting standards; and assess impact when performing regulatory reporting reviews as appropriate.
8. Follow up on your audit recommendations and ensure that they have been implemented before reporting them as closed for the Audit Committee.

What you will need:
1. Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders.
2. Experience and deep understanding of FINREP, COREP, including credit risk, asset encumbrance, leverage ratio, large exposures and Liquidity returns.
3. Up to date knowledge of the current rules and regulations around the various regulatory reporting returns.
4. Experience of auditing/reviewing/working on regulatory reporting/Financial Institutions, or skilled in risk management.
5. Professional Accountancy Qualification ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent.
6. Proactive behaviours and an attention to detail.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support and challenge stakeholders at all levels of the Bank.
