The Department
The PE department at Gloucester Academy is made up of 6 experienced, full time teachers. The team is enthusiastic and supportive, dedicated to instilling a love of sports and physical activity in our students. The PE Department builds on pupils’ prior learning, using a knowledge-led approach, with a focus on developing our pupils’ core skills across a range of sports, alongside development of their theoretical knowledge.
Resources

Our students participate in a range of enrichment and extracurricular activities, and PE is often at the heart of these. Most importantly though, all of our lessons are centrally created for every year group, and every module. As a team dedicated to improving the quality of our teaching, we regularly evaluate, adapt, improve or build upon our pre-existing lessons to ensure they are of the best quality for our students. Furthermore, we follow a Whole Class Feedback marking approach, which is highly effective and very well embedded in our department.
