About the Role
Historic Royal Palaces is a team of people who love and look after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world and their magnificent historical gardens.
We are recruiting for a Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprentice, giving you a fantastic opportunity to grow and develop your skills. The Warehouse Apprentice will provide administrative and supply support to the Commercial and retail functions of Historic Royal Palaces, ensuring our members and visitors are served in a timely and correct fashion.
To learn all areas of how a Warehouse operates in a busy environment, including using computer systems and receiving in and processing retail goods.
Whilst studying towards your apprenticeship you will also be:
1. Unload and accept deliveries from external suppliers, advising the Warehouse Deputy Team Leader and/or Mentor of any discrepancies.
2. Understand and comply with Health, Safety, and Compliance.
3. Check delivery quantities with packing notes and buyers’ orders.
4. Book stock into our retail WMS system.
5. Locate the items received in the storage area.
6. Be involved and understand basic stock management.
7. Pick Retail shop deliveries via handheld terminal and paper picks.
8. Support and gain an understanding in the planning when loading our Retail delivery vehicles.
9. Work alongside our Ecommerce team to fulfill our online customer orders.
10. Gain an understanding in our stocktaking processes.
11. Maintain housekeeping qualities.
12. Understand the charity and site sustainability goals.
13. Understand our part to play in the Central Warehouse Audit responsibilities.
14. Use basic Microsoft Outlook, Word.
15. Have full exposure to our Three Pillars: Reach Further, Mean More, Act for the Future.
Carry out willingly any other instructions given by the Warehouse Deputy Team Leader and/or Manager.
More than anything, we are looking for potential, but as this Apprenticeship starts at level 2, we do have a few eligibility requirements:
1. You must be 18 years old or over on 2nd September 2025.
2. Live in the UK (resident in the country role is based).
3. You must not have completed a degree or equivalent level qualification in the UK or elsewhere and not already be in full-time education.
4. 3 GCSEs at grade C (or 4) or above, including English, Science/Engineering, and Mathematics (or equivalent).
