Personal Support Worker (Learning Disability/Community Activities) P/T @ £11.44/hr in L18 - Liverpool
Location: Home base Liverpool 18 but activities in the Liverpool and surrounding areas.
Job Purpose: To assist with a variety of tasks which will enable me to engage in positive physical activities and voluntary work opportunities, based on my interests.
About the Employer:
* I am a young adult aged 20 who has recently finished college, where I enjoyed a non-qualification course in animal care.
* I keep chickens and assist in gardening at home. I am interested in conservation, farming, gardening, walking, horse riding, quad biking, and animals.
* I need support due to a complex learning disability and speech difficulty, and I can become anxious in certain situations.
* I live with my parents who support me in employing my support workers, with funding through Liverpool Local Authority Adult Services.
Main Duties:
* Build a positive, trusting relationship and keep me safe whilst supporting me.
* Support and work alongside me in a range of activities outside of my home, such as:
o Voluntary work opportunities in Liverpool and surrounding areas, including gardening, litter picking, farming tasks, conservation tasks, and animal care.
o Attend adult education classes in practical subjects of interest as courses are available.
o Participate in physical exercise activities such as walking, horse riding, and cycling sessions.
* Support and work alongside me in activities at home, such as:
o Assisting me to tend to my chickens.
o Gardening and outdoor jobs (e.g., vegetable growing, weeding, cutting grass).
o Working with me at home to upcycle small pieces of furniture.
o Supporting me at home to prepare lunch.
* Note: These duties may vary from day to day.
Hours of Work: Flexible hours to be mutually agreed – minimum of 6 hours, maximum of 30 hours per week. Days of work would need to be regular but are currently flexible.

* Calm, hardworking, reliable, honest, adaptable, and a good communicator.
* Willing and able to travel.
* Interested in or experienced in outdoor activities such as gardening, animals, farming, and conservation work.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Essential:
* Interest in outdoor activities such as gardening, farming, animals, or conservation.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to stay calm and help manage heightened anxiety.
* Enhanced DBS check for adult workforce (paid for by employer).
* Driving license and access to a car with insurance OR ability to travel by public transport.
* Ability to encourage, motivate, and work alongside as a good role model.
* Respectful of the Christian faith.
* Non-smoking during work hours.
Preferred:
* Experience in gardening, farming, animals, conservation, or outdoor activities.
* Experience working with individuals with a learning disability.
* Training in Positive Behaviour Support and willingness to support individuals with challenging behaviors.
* Interest in chickens and other animals.
