Building Surveyor

Hendon, with travel across London (with flexible working opportunities)
£5,000 - £55,000 per annum
A fantastic job opportunity has arisen for an experienced Property, Building & Maintenance Surveyor to join a charitable organisation in their in-house property department. This organisation has a variety of property types within its portfolio including commercial, residential, historical, heritage, 1970s, and modern/new builds.
This role will be client and contract focused so we're looking for someone who is focused on delivering an all-rounded, excellent, customer/client/colleague service, ensuring that all stakeholders are updated at all times. Although this is a generalist surveying role, there is likely to be an emphasis on maintenance.
In short, this Surveyor job requires someone who:
* is an experienced maintenance surveyor
* will undertake on-site property surveys
* is confident in their ability and experience in identifying defects and advising on remedial works, offering advice on proposed alterations, improvements and extensions, producing detailed reports and recommendations
* can prepare budgets and schedules
* can work on-site, from home and in an office
* will work as part of the property team to help ensure that the portfolio of properties across the organisation is well maintained, safe and compliant
* is confident in managing and leading projects
* will regularly meet/liaise with clients and contractors to oversee progress
* is a clear and open communicator who engages with all stakeholders to help ensure deadlines are met

Building & Maintenance Surveyor Job Criteria
* Building Surveyors qualification or equivalent (MRICS / MCIOB)
* High level of experience with maintenance
* Ability to travel as and when required across London
* Experienced managing multiple projects
* Experienced with JCT contracts
* Experienced or hold a strong knowledge of working with multiple types of properties such as Historic, Heritage, Listed, 1970's, New Builds
* Team player and strong communicator
