Justteachers partner school, an SEMH day school for young people aged 9-17 in Grantham who have a range of diagnoses, challenging behaviours and complex needs, are looking to appoint a pastoral mentor who will be committed to supporting the delivery of education for pupils with complex needs. The role is to start mid April 2025 and is expected to last until July 2025. Reporting to the Class Teacher, you will ensure all children at the school receive the best possible standard of education; achieving their full potential across the breadth of the curriculum and school opportunities. We are looking for an Academic and Pastoral Mentor who can: Raise standards in achievement through excellence in supporting Teaching & Learning Have high expectations and aspirations for pupils with SEMH and complex needs Effectively support pupils with their learning and their behaviour Ensure that pupils are fully supported to engage in the creative curriculum within and beyond the classroom Raise standards and outcomes through participation in development and training Work with teachers to ensure each pupil realises their potential Monitor pupil progress and feedback to teachers to ensure successful outcomes Share their ideas and expertise with others to further improve the schools offer The post is offered with a ranging daily rate dependent on experience from £95-£110 per day working 8.30am 3.30pm Monday to Friday. The role offers an exciting opportunity to join a progressive SEMH school with excellent facilities and a supportive leadership team. The successful candidate will have essential experience working with children, young people or adults with disabilities. You may also have experience working with children or adults with complex needs in a care setting. You will have: Teaching Assistant level 1, 2 or 3, Health and social care qualification or equivalent (not essential) Experience working with people with SEND e.g. working within a School, Care/Residential setting, SEMH School or Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) (essential) a passion for supporting the development and learning of students with Social and Emotional Mental Health and want to make a difference The ability to build good relationships with learners and gain an understanding of the needs behind the behaviours Two education or school-based references Will be subject to Enhanced DBS checks or be willing to apply for one.
