We are looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor with extensive experience in residential groundworks to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a well-established company that delivers high-quality residential developments. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial success of groundworks projects and supporting the wider project team.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and contracts for residential groundworks projects.
Conduct site visits (one-third of the role) to assess progress, manage costs, and ensure that works are proceeding as planned.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve issues and ensure smooth project delivery.
Produce detailed cost reports and valuations for ongoing works.
Provide advice on procurement, tendering, and contract matters.
Negotiate and manage variations, claims, and change orders.
Monitor project costs and provide proactive solutions to mitigate cost overruns.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in quantity surveying with a focus on residential groundworks.
Proven track record of managing costs on groundworks projects from inception to completion.
Excellent knowledge of construction contracts and procurement.
Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in relevant software (e.g., MS Office, CostX, etc.).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., RICS, degree in Quantity Surveying or similar) are desirable but not essential.
