The role will be approximately one to two days operational leadership with the rest of the role being specialist clinical in the hospital setting. The successful applicant will need to have extensive experience of enteral and parenteral nutrition as this role sits clinically within the multidisciplinary nutrition team with the nursing, medicine and pathology. They will also need to have some leadership experience. The role would suit a candidate who has completed the MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice. The wider department has around 50 dietitians and dietetic assistants, supported by an administration team. The department supports ongoing professional development, both internally, with our colleagues across North Wales and externally, including study at an advanced level. Main duties of the job The clinical role will be determined by the successful applicant’s interest and experience. However, it is expected it would include being part of the nutrition team who support patients on parenteral nutrition, involvement with complex enteral feeding and being able to support patients in critical care. The post holder would also be expected to be able to support the team in terms of clinical knowledge and experience. In terms of operational leadership, the successful applicant will need to hold weekly team meetings, as well as quarterly half day business meetings. They will also be responsible for ensuring that referrals are actioned and patient reviews are carried out within clinically appropriate timescales. They will need to lead on development of pathways and policies and their application. In addition, they will need to oversee PADRs, supervision and leave, as well as taking a full role in the dietetic leadership team, and take on responsibilities representing the department as requested by the head and deputy head of dietetics.
