Be fully conversant with all Trust policies and procedures including: - Fire Safety, Infection Control, Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH Regulations and Manual Handling guidance and safe systems of work The post holder must work in accordance with all relevant Trust policies and procedures and maintain suitable evidence of compliance. understanding to inspire colleagues to show how safety, health and environmental management can help deliver the best patient experience as well as protecting staff. Respond to day-to-day health and safety issues and inform the fire and safety lead of significant issues and actions taken. Assist the safety management team in the development, management, implementation and monitoring of the Safety, Health and Environmental arrangements. Record, provide and present monthly reports based on analysis of the relevant Health, Safety, and training data to meet the internal requirements for service assurance and completion of actions arising to satisfy external legislator and enforcement body requirements. Assist the development and updating of current health and safety training packages both face to face and e-learning. Support the fire and safety lead in delivering a range of all health and safety training to staff and volunteers. Be responsible for preparing and maintaining records relating to safety, health and environmental matters that comply with legal and workplace requirements and are accessible to those who are authorised to use them. Recognise where decisions have a financial cost and assisting to develop a budget seeking cost effective alternatives when required. Monitor and update the health and safety intranet pages. The post holder will adopt a flexible approach when undertaking appropriate duties as part of a team, including colleagues and other staff members, the post holder will work towards the highest possible standards of patient care. The post holder must adhere to the trusts values and behaviours at all times. The post holder will undertake specialised and other training that may become necessary due to developments in technology. The post holder will carry out any other duties as may be required to satisfy the changing needs of the services. To fulfil the needs of this post, the post holder may be required to work overtime as required by the needs of the service and it may also be necessary to return to work at short notice to cover such emergencies as may develop outside normal working hours. The post holder will ensure the safety and security of all plant, equipment and buildings belonging to the trust and other authorities managed under a Service Level agreement. The post holder will report any accidents or defects relating to the Trusts built environment and engineering services directly to the Operational Estates Managers. The post holder will take and maintain records both electronically and on paper of the tests and results produced by the statutory testing of equipment The post holder will complete all documentation regarding the post holders position as directed by the maintenance supervisor including any documentation relevant to other trusts served by any service level agreements.
