About Us: Cox Law and Policy is a global shared services function within Cox Automotive, dedicated to providing top-notch legal support across our diverse business divisions. This role specifically supports the European division of Cox Automotive, focusing on the UK Remarketing and Vehicle Solutions sectors.
Your Role: As a Corporate Counsel (wholesale), you'll play a crucial role in advising Cox Automotive Europe’s key businesses. We're looking for someone who is commercially astute, confident, and capable of influencing others in a fast-paced environment. Providing business partnering support, you'll interact with all levels of the organisation and external partners, making your role both dynamic and impactful.
Key Responsibilities:
* Physical Services: Draft and negotiate agreements for B2B vehicle remarketing services, reconditioning, storage, and transport.
* Digital Services: Draft and negotiate agreements for software development, SaaS, software licensing, and data licensing.
* Sales Support: Assist the Sales Enablement Team with RFI and RFQ responses, including reviewing and negotiating tender terms.
* Privacy Protection: Collaborate with the Privacy Team to safeguard personal data and mitigate associated risks.
* Legal Recommendations: Advise on the legal implications of new physical and digital products, including drafting product terms.
* Compliance: Work with the Compliance Team to ensure operational processes are implemented and maintained.
* IP Rights: Provide advice on the exploitation and protection of intellectual property rights, including software copyright.
* Commercial Contract Disputes: Handle contract dispute negotiations and instruct external counsel on litigation.
* Customer Legal Disputes: Advise on escalated customer disputes and manage small claims.
* Procurement Support: Assist Senior Corporate Counsel (Supply Chain) with procurement activities as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience: 2-5 years PQE, with in-house and/or automotive industry experience preferred.
* IT Law:
* Skills: Excellent drafting and negotiation commercial contracts, strong communication, and relationship-building skills.
* Stakeholder Management: Ability to handle multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines.
* Travel: Willingness to travel as needed (less than 10%).
* Bonus: Experience in small claims litigation and/or auction law is advantageous but not essential.
