Job Overview
Do you enjoy therapeutic play? Have you ever tried it? The sky is the limit when it comes to imagination; take them on an obstacle course across a desert or make tea for a pirate on a secret island. Are you interested in taking therapeutic principles of exercise and posture to the next level, enabling children and young people to achieve their independence? It may be to enable a young person to access their electric chair to go into the community or to support them towards independent access of a gym following surgery. Does this sound interesting? If so, then this may be just the creative and rewarding job you are looking for.
We are interested in those who are passionate about making positive changes to children who have physical challenges and we are aiming high.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist to join our large, innovative community-based team working across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland as part of our Children’s Therapy Team. The Children’s Physiotherapy Service seeks to provide a high-quality service to children and young people, aged 0-19 years and their families in the community; their home, nurseries, and schools. We have the support of a Clinical Professional Lead.
You will need to demonstrate flexibility and initiative to work as part of a Multi-disciplinary and Multi-Agency Team. You will need to manage your time effectively with a designated caseload as well as being required to support other members of the team.
You will have a strong programme of support and supervision to continue to develop your Physiotherapy skills with children and young people. We encourage continuous professional development through both internal and external training.
You need to demonstrate an understanding of working in a community setting, the complexities of working within a family and a multidisciplinary, multi-agency environment, be familiar with children’s equipment and its use, and be skilled in the delivery of several assessment tools and interventions used by physiotherapists in community children’s services.
