Our Wealth and Personal Banking business supports millions of individuals, families, business owners, investors and entrepreneurs worldwide. We provide products and services that include current accounts, credit cards, personal loans and mortgages, as well as savings, investments, insurance and wealth management. We also have specialised relationship managers who support customers with bespoke requirements, including high net worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
Strategic Fraud analytics sits within the UK Fraud team and is responsible for using data science and messaging techniques to prevent and detect fraud. The Fraud Messaging team (within Strategic Fraud analytics) delivers both proactive and reactive fraud messaging to protect our customers from fraud and scams. Communications with our customers form a critical part, but the team covers so much more. From developing treatment strategies, delivering easier payment journeys to developing actionable insight from call listening and various initiatives to drive customer satisfaction.

In this role you will:
• Lead complex analytical projects to completion with minimal guidance
• Formulate and clearly communicate conclusions and proposals considering the risk and customer impact, collaborating with teams to make decisions.
• Support the design of randomised controlled trials to test, learn and optimise messaging, customer warnings and treatment strategies
• Work with data scientists and messaging engineers to deliver these messaging interventions
• Proactively suggest process changes to enhance fraud prevention and detection capabilities
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Previous experience in an Analytics based role is essential
• Essential: Applicants must have a track record of analytical capabilities using relevant software packages eg (SAS or SQL/VBA/Python) to analyse large amounts of data, draw conclusions and drive actions.
• Excellent ability to network with internal and external partners.
• Some experience of successful project management
• Able to work with many simultaneous tasks in a pressurised, time-sensitive environment.
This is a hybrid working role with the base location as either Birmingham or Sheffield.
