Our Client is a growing OEM and integrator of advanced energy systems, specializing in Combined Heat & Power (CHP), Microgrids, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). With a strong pipeline of projects across California and the western U.S., we are expanding our service team to support our growing fleet of packaged CHP systems.
Position Overview:
Our Client is seeking a skilled and experienced CHP Maintenance Technician to join our field services team in Northern California. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with reciprocating gas engine-driven generators, with a focus on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs.
Experience with MAN, Jenbacher, 2G, Cummins, or CAT engines is highly preferred. Knowledge of ComAp controls and EControls fuel and ignition systems is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on CHP/cogeneration units.
2. Troubleshoot and repair engine, generator, and control system issues.
3. Conduct diagnostic evaluations using manufacturer software and tools.
4. Work with high-efficiency natural gas engines and electrical generation equipment.
5. Interface with clients on-site to provide exceptional customer support.
6. Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
7. Support commissioning and start-up of new CHP systems as needed.
Qualifications:
1. 3+ years of experience in CHP, generator, or industrial engine maintenance.
2. Strong knowledge of MAN, Jenbacher, 2G, Cummins, or CAT engines.
3. Experience with ComAp controller systems (InteliSys, InteliGen, etc.).
4. Familiarity with EControls ignition/fuel systems is a strong plus.
5. Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
6. Comfortable working independently in the field.
7. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
8. EPA 608 Certification (preferred but not required).
9. Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors, and climb ladders when needed.
