The Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit Team provide autonomous expert care to Patients experiencing early pregnancy complications. The Team of Specialist Nurses and Midwives offer a comprehensive service providing safe, effective and Patient centred care which is up to date and evidence based.
We are looking for Nurses/Midwives who are highly motivated and passionate about the service they provide.
Main duties of the job
The Specialist Nurse/Midwife will provide expert care to those patients/partner/relatives/carers who are experiencing complications in early pregnancy.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
We are looking for Nurses/Midwives who are able to:
* provide excellent clinical care, including counselling and psychological support to patients and partners
* assess, plan and implement care pathways
* build up positive working relationships with other members of the multi-disciplinary team
* facilitate nurse/midwife led clinics
* offer telephone support/advice services
* act as an advocate for patients and their partners
* interpret ultrasound reports and plan appropriate care
* provide clinical supervision and teaching of other health professionals
* take part in the ongoing development of the service including audit
* provide evidence of continuing professional development
* keep up to date with changes in practice and current research
Person specification
* Registered Nurse or Midwife with current NMC registration
* Mentorship course or equivalent experience
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* 3 years post registration Nurse / Midwife. Experience within Women’s health or Gynaecology at Band 5 or above
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Current Professional issues and Research
* Ability to use all Midwifery and nursing skills and delegate as appropriate.
* Understanding of the complications of early pregnancy and associated conditions
* Degree level learning or equivalent clinical experience
* Qualification in Counselling
* Ultra sound scanning qualification
