If so, then this could be an ideal new role for you Key responsibilities We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the smooth running of finance department by handling supplier and sub-contractor payments, managing ledgers, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations, providing financial insights, and much more. This role requires strong knowledge of accounting software and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records. Key Duties: Support all aspects of the accounts department and associated systems and processes including but not limited to: Processing supplier and sub-contractor payment applications Familiar with and ability to use accountancy software Processing expense claims CIS and all HMRC returns Prompt supply chain payments Purchase and subcontractor ledgers All Debtor / Creditor management and controls Implement monthly accounts close off and issue Provide budgetary forecasts and ongoing review and analysis Meet the financial objectives from an account’s perspective Liaise with Directors as necessary Always ensure full compliance Essential Skills & Experience Have a minimum two-years accountancy experience Ideally have knowledge of specific construction accountancy practices Ability to work on own initiative Be hard working and hands on Must have first class communication and organisational skills Excellent timekeeping & ability to worked to fixed deadlines Good commercial awareness Computer literate and experience of computerised accounts software Person Specification Attention to detail Numerate Good listener Work to fixed deadlines Ability to multitask Focused Good IT skills (good experience of word, excel) Good time keeping Ability to work on own initiative Quick learner Not afraid to ask questions Experienced Enthusiastic & Collaborative Good telephone manner Positive personality Sense of Humour Training We believe in investing in our team.
