Key Responsibilities: Generate Supplier Order Books: Create and maintain supplier order books to ensure timely procurement of materials. Coordinate with procurement team to align orders with production schedules and inventory requirements. Utilise MRP systems to manage and track orders accurately. Communicate Directly with Suppliers: Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers to expedite purchase orders. Proactively communicate with suppliers to resolve any issues or delays in deliveries. Negotiate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards. Work Closely with the Procurement Team: Collaborate with the procurement team to develop and implement purchasing strategies. Assist in supplier selection and evaluation processes. Provide support for sourcing activities and vendor management initiatives. Process Purchase Orders: Review purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders accurately. Verify pricing, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with company policies. Coordinate with accounts payable to resolve any discrepancies in invoicing. Participation in Improvement Activities: Actively participate in improvement projects within the purchasing team. Identify opportunities for process optimisation and cost savings. Contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement processes. Requirements: Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management preferred. Knowledge of ERP systems Experience of Syspro 7 is desirable. CIPS Qualification Level 2 would be advantageous.
