We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Pharmacy Assistant. The main focus of the role will be to provide dispensing and support service to wards and departments in the hospital and pharmacy reception duties with some patient contact. Use of IT and liaising with health care professionals will be routine aspects of the role. While experience of working with medicines within a pharmacy environment would be an advantage, full training can be provided.
Meeting the needs of our service users is extremely important to us, and we are looking for an individual who shares our vision to deliver a high quality, service-user focused approach.
Participation will be required in the late night, weekend and bank holiday rota.
You should have, or be willing to work towards, an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services, or a recognised equivalent. If you have not already got it, Maths, Science and English at GCSE grade C / Grade 4 or above or recognised equivalent are essential.
Main Duties of the Job
1. To participate in all aspects of medication including the dispensing process within the dispensary and at ward level.
2. To receive in medication using appropriate IT systems to book stock in and out.
3. Working as part of a team to maintain workload and manage patient flow.
4. To take part in daily duties including periods of time on reception.
