Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with Electrical Bias
Clevedon – Aerospace Division, SKF (U.K.) Limited
An opportunity has arisen for the position of Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias. You will be servicing, fault finding, repairing, and improving a wide range of production equipment – including CNC lathes, mills, and grinding machines.
Tasks:
1. Carry out Preventative Maintenance in accordance with schedules
2. Resolve breakdowns
3. Fault find to the cause of failures
4. Source and purchase spares
5. Carry out both electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks
6. Test & inspect electrical installations
7. Communicate with operators/managers/engineers/contractors
8. Be active in supporting, creating, and implementing new ways of working/good working practices
9. Drive a continuous improvement culture
10. Support supplier and subcontractor development, where applicable
11. Run your operations according to the SKF Code of Conduct, Environment Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality Policies, and work according to the SKF Quality Management System
Requirements:
1. Apprentices trained and have a range of industry recognized qualifications such as: City & Guilds, NVQs, BTEC, HNC, HND etc.
2. Experience in a CNC manufacturing environment
3. Understand good maintenance and engineering practices
4. Able to use own initiative and work autonomously when required
5. Be flexible to work overtime and support a small team
Skills:
1. Excellent communication
2. Excellent electrical knowledge
3. Excellent mechatronics knowledge
4. Good understanding of Preventative Maintenance principles/methodologies
