Operations Manager - Race Timing Solutions
Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our Event Timer Department as an Events Team Leader (South Division). As an Events Team Leader (South Division), you will be responsible for accurately timing various sporting events across the UK using our chip timing technology and leading a team of event timers for all southern events.
Pay
The base salary for this role is between £25,000 - £28,000 subject to the level of experience in event timing. In addition to this base rate, this is a bonus package based on performance and achieving the KPI set.

Key Responsibilities
1. Set up and operate timing equipment effectively at assigned events
2. Ensure accurate recording of participant data and timings is collected, then transferred onto our operating system (Racetec)
3. Coordinate with event organizers and participants accordingly throughout each event to ensure a seamless experience
4. Represent Race Timing Solution's core values and be professional when involved in any aspect of the company's responsibilities
5. Troubleshoot any technical or physical issues with timing equipment (training is provided on this and a fantastic support system)
6. Complete the event set-up and clear down of all the RTS equipment in plenty of time to ensure the event schedule is not disrupted
7. Support with any participant's inquiries raised on-site promptly and in alignment with the company-trained expectations
8. Report any issues or concerns with the RTS equipment to the Operations Manager via the feedback system
9. Provide honest event feedback, to support the company and individual development
10. Achieve expectation to time over 70 events per annum, of which all events assigned will be on the weekend (mainly a Sunday)
11. Coordinate with the Operations Manager for the event assignments to be completed weekly
12. Complete all planning tasks via Monday's within the required timeframe
13. Keep on top of the results inbox, customer inquiries are responded to daily
14. Ensure all steps are followed for the pre and post-event checklist
15. Support with the competitions and rewards systems to help push motivation and performance within the Chip Timing Department
16. Ensure all Vans are kept maintained and regular checks are completed on the required maintenance
17. Support with remote timing events, and the chip timers as on-hand support whilst at events
18. Support and manage a team of chip timers for the South Region in achieving the KPI's set
19. Ensure all events have an allocated chip timer within a minimum of a quarter in advance
20. Expected to time all events throughout the week as a priority and the committee to all events allocated by the Operation Manager
21. Attend all 1-2-1 meetings with the Operations Manager
22. Respond to all email communication and work system tags weekly
23. Complete the online training provided when onboarded with the company in the allocated time frame
24. Achieve the monthly KPI set by the Operations Manager, which will be subject to experience
Requirements for the Role
1. No prior experience is necessary for this position, as we offer a fully comprehensive training course, but previous chip timing experience is preferred
2. Must have access to a reliable internet connection for remote work assignments
3. Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) to meet the expectation to time over 70 events per annum
4. Must have a full standard manual UK driving license (ideally over 2 years of experience and not over 6 points on your record) to drive the company van for events
5. Must have access to own transportation to travel to our offices to collect the company van for assigned events when required
6. Willing to work unsocial hours, mainly for the required travel time for events across the UK
7. Work experience in a logistics role for a minimum of one year
8. Team Management experience for a minimum of one year

What to Expect Once You Have Applied?
1. Step 1: If we think you could be a good match for our team, we will invite you to an informal chat with our Operations Manager, this is a great opportunity for us to get to know you for a brief chat and for you to get to know us.
2. Step 2: This is a formal interview with the Operations Manager, this will consist of some questions from realistic event scenarios to see if your response aligns with our company expectations or important brand values.
3. Step 3: If you are successful, you will then be put onto our online training platform, which will be required for you to complete before you can attend any events and be allocated a Team Leader, who will support you with the practical training /getting you ready to be able to do an event on your own.

We have been providing race times, and event equipment hire for various sports events across England, Scotland and Wales for over 12 years. Events such as Triathlons, Marathons, Obstacle Course/Mud Races, Cyclocross, School and Charity Sportives etc.
We are looking for staff to join our part-time event support teams and assist in providing timing, results, and equipment to events across the UK at the weekends.
