Are you looking for a new challenge with North Yorkshire Council?
We currently have a 35 hour per week vacancy for a Team Leader to join Milestone House in Seamer, Scarborough. You will work as part of a management Team of 4 Team Leaders and the Registered Manager.
Milestone is a Short Breaks service that plays a vital role in offering respite stays to a range of people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and autism. We support guests and their families primarily living in the East of the County. We also support unplanned admissions at a time of identified need including on occasion direct from hospital.
We believe that everyone has the right to an independent and fulfilling life, and our short stay service will enable people and their families to build skills, develop confidence, and give people the opportunity to maximise their wellbeing through person centred approaches. You will need to have an understanding of supporting Autistic Adults.
As a Team Leader, reporting directly to the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the direct care and support provided by a team of Learning Disability Care and Support Workers within the service is safe, effective, responsive, caring and well-led, and complies with both the Care Quality Commission regulated activities and North Yorkshire Council policies and procedures.
The service will be delivered around the clock on a 24/7 basis, so you will be expected to work a variety of shifts, which would include days, evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, and the potential to cover a night shift if required. It is expected the 35 hours will be worked over 4 or 5 shifts a week. Additional payment is made for weekend working.
Whilst we require an NVQ level 3 in Care/Promoting Independence or CQF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care, we will support those who have a minimum of NVQ Level 2 Care/Promoting Independence or QCF Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care to achieve the Level 3.
We can offer you the opportunity to:
* Access further training and development.
* Work for a leading care employer.
* Be part of a committed and supportive team.
* Access a range of benefits including generous leave entitlement, flexible working, a local government pension scheme, salary sacrifice, and employee discount benefits.
In addition to this, future career options for the Team Leader could be to work as a Social Care Coordinator undertaking assessments and reviews to determine a person’s level of need or as a Registered Manager.
If you have experience of working in Adult Social Care and/or the Health Sector and would like to develop your experience of managing staff, we look forward to receiving your application for this role.
If you think this job is for you and would like an informal discussion or if you have any questions, please contact Jayne Richardson at jayne.richardson@northyorks.gov.uk.
