The role
As a Mobile Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to not only work on military vehicles but also explore different parts of the country.
Day-to-day, you’ll carry out routine and bespoke inspection, servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis mechanical and/or electrical repair to a wide range of advanced military wheeled vehicles to Level 1 and 2 maintenance standards.
* Capable of in-depth engineering work and diagnostics on large, and small vehicles
* Able to adapt to a wide variety of unusual vehicle platforms using modern repair techniques and skills
* Adept at reading and utilising repair manuals, spares lists and modern diagnostic schematics through modern media assets as required
* Proficient at problem solving using technical knowledge and experience to obtain positive outcomes
* Expected to work efficiently to achieve targets and specific deadlines set by Line Manager to achieve positive results
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is a field-based role but can be based any of our Defence Group Sites.
Essential experience of the Mobile Vehicle Mechanic:
* Experienced IT skills competent at utilising laptops and diagnostic computers with a good understanding of MS Word and Excel
Qualifications for the Mobile Vehicle Mechanic:
* A recognised qualification in Automotive Engineering with a minimum C and G level 3 or BTEC/IMI/NVQ equivalent or has served in HM Armed Forces as a Vehicle Mechanic Class One
* B1 Driving Licence
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
