As an ASD Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), supporting them in their academic learning, social integration, and emotional well-being. You will work under the direction of the class teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), providing tailored support to meet the individual needs of students.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students with ASD in the classroom, helping them to access the curriculum and engage in lessons.
Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with ASD, assisting with their social and emotional development.
Implement strategies and interventions designed to support students' individual learning needs.
Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCo.
Encourage positive behavior, social interaction, and communication skills among students.
Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment where students with ASD can thrive.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and other support staff to ensure students' needs are met effectively.
Assist in the development and delivery of IEPs (Individual Education Plans) and other learning support plans.
