We are looking to recruit an electrician with control gear experience working with 440V/240V. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Work as part of a team to fault find and repair breakdowns on Machines and plant equipment, i.e., drills, blaster, saws, conveyors, welding units and overhead cranes etc.
* Carry out preventative maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting equipment to ensure optimal functionality and in line with the maintenance plan and update files accordingly.
* Adhere to all safety regulations, codes, and standards to ensure a safe working environment.
* Conduct safety checks, risk assessments, and implement safety measures to minimize the potential for electrical hazards.
* Maintain records of maintenance activities, including inspection reports, repair logs and equipment performance data.
* Keep up to date with the latest electrical regulations and industry best practices, and ensure compliance in all maintenance activities.
* Ensure safe systems of work are adhered to during all maintenance works, including COSHH assessments.
* Collaborate with the team to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve complex issues.
* Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates, discuss maintenance plans, and address any concerns.
* Identify opportunities for improving electrical performance, energy efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
* Report any issues to your line manager.
* Lead by example and always promote safe working by working to procedures, following safe systems of work and wearing correct PPE/RPE as required.
Skills and Experience
* Applicants must have completed a recognized trade apprenticeship or relevant Electrical Qualification.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and equipment.
* Experience in working in control cabinets with invert drive, PLC modules, Servo drive motor controls.
* The ability to juggle a varied and demanding workload.
* Proficiency in electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
* The ability to work to strict and tight deadlines.
* Attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
* Excellent problem-solving skills.
* Good interpersonal skills.
