The group is currently home to a population of over 6,500 full-time students with around 2000 adult learners and students on higher education programmes. We have over 1,500 apprentices where we work with over 850 individual employers. We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual with relevant experience to manage the robust co-ordination of statutory compliance within the Estates department. The role will encompass the development of an effective service delivery, risk management and live risk register, policy updates, safe systems of works, method statements, construction safety documents, compliance recording systems, resource planning, effective communications, and training and development. You will have a proven track record of successfully managing the delivery of a maintenance compliance service, along with thorough, and up to date, understanding of compliance related safety legislation and associated standards/guidance and their practical application in a multi-functional, dynamic and complex organisation. The main duties of the post holder are: To optimise compliance against statutory requirements and guidance for technical risks. To provide regular reports, and present data via dashboards, on performance for all building maintenance statutory compliance and planned maintenance contracts. To develop and maintain up-to-date and accurate asset lists and associated detail on the planned maintenance system of items requiring statutory maintenance, inspection, testing, and remedial works in accordance with SFG20, manufacturers recommendations, CIBSE, BSRIA, etc. To develop and update systems, procedures, processes and to ensure up to date live record of comprehensive evidence documentation is in place. To ensure technical specifications and supporting documents are developed and regularly updated for statutory and planned maintenance work and included within contracts and work requests. Required Skills and Experience: A proven track record of successfully managing the delivery of a maintenance compliance service. Holds a Level 5 qualification in a relevant discipline. To be diligent in the management of compliance activity and ensuring recording of evidence is undertaken. Have a thorough, and up to date, understanding of compliance related safety legislation and associated standards/guidance and their practical application in a multi-functional, dynamic and complex organisation. Ability to work on own initiative and to make decisions within the framework of established policies, procedures and standards. Ability to analyse information and data relating to complex situations and to communicate findings clearly and precisely. What’s in it for you?
