Join the Movement for Climate Action as a Climate & Environment Advisor for the National Trust!
Are you passionate about Climate Action and committed to achieving Carbon Net Zero by 2030? We are looking for a dedicated, knowledgeable and experienced Climate & Environment Adviser (CEA) to join our team and help us lead the way in sustainability and environmental actions.
What it's like:
You’ll be part of the Trust’s internal consultancy: a flexible resource of specialist skills and expertise. As one of a multidisciplinary team of experts, including curators, fundraisers, building surveyors and project managers, you’ll be working with others to help make things happen.
Your contractual place of work will be the National Trust office at Bristol. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.
What you'll be doing:
As an integral part of the regional Consultancy Team, you will play a crucial role in embedding climate and environmental standards across the South West. You will be responsible for providing expert advice on managing carbon, climate change risks and impacts, water (including sewage systems), energy, waste, and natural resources. Your proactive approach will enable our properties to meet their carbon targets and adapt to climate change, ensuring compliance with the National Trust Climate and Environmental Management System (CEMS).
This role will also be responsible for leading on the Reduction and Engagement part of the National Trust’s RACE (Reduction, Adaptation, Capture and Engagement) for Climate Action in the Southwest.
Who we’re looking for:
* Substantial post qualification practical experience with a sound knowledge in all aspects of sustainability, including the management of carbon, energy, waste, natural resources, land use and buildings.
* Demonstrable experience in collaboratively leading on climate and environmental risk management planning and procedures for others to implement.
* Experience in undertaking and commissioning research – embracing change and challenge.
* Inspirational and innovative consulting approaches and skills.
* The ability to communicate confidently and effectively to individuals or groups at all levels.
* Experience in supporting operations work within an EMS such as ISO14001.
