We are seeking to appoint an excellent Deputy Headteacher for September 2025 to help lead, inspire and develop our outstanding school. This post will be non-class based, and the successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher and Assistant Head to lead the school.
St George’s C E Primary School is an outstanding and popular two and a half form entry primary school in Telford with a nursery for 3- and 4-year-olds. We are a caring, inclusive school with a distinctive Christian ethos. We are looking for candidates who embody the following qualities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. supporting the head teacher and other leaders to further develop the Christian distinctiveness of the school.
2. supporting the head teacher with strategic school development including driving outstanding standards across all key stages.
3. taking the lead for either our EYFS and KS1 team or our KS2 team, depending on the experience and expertise of the successful candidate.
4. leading whole school assessment processes and data analysis.
5. developing the school’s provision for emotional health and wellbeing for children, families and staff.
6. overseeing the smooth running of Breakfast Club.
7. mentoring and coaching staff.
8. leading outstanding curriculum development and design, supporting subject leaders.
9. timetables and organisation including monitoring.

Interview and selection process:
Day 1 (Mon 10th March): presentation (agreed title beforehand) plus tasks.
Day 2 (Tues 11th March): Interview plus task.
Candidates will need to allow up to 2 days for the interview/assessment process. Please note that only successful day 1 candidates will be invited to attend day 2 of the interview process.
