Our client is a market leader in electronic components used across data communications, telecommunications, industrial, and consumer markets. As part of their ongoing expansion, they are seeking a Quality Technician to join the manufacturing team. This position plays a key role in ensuring product quality compliance, supporting quality assurance initiatives, and maintaining high standards across their facility.
Location: Northampton, UK
Working Hours: 6:00am to 2:00pm / 2:00pm to 10:00pm (Weekly Rotating)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure product quality control and compliance with specification requirements
2. Support the Quality Engineer in quality control activities across production
3. Conduct routine process audits, ESD audits, and implement corrective/preventive actions
4. Perform spot check audits and participate in regular shop floor walks
5. Drive and support quality improvement initiatives across the manufacturing line
6. Participate in internal audits and support customer visits and external audits
7. Perform Goods In and Goods Out inspections on components and finished goods
8. Support site calibration and change control activities, including monitoring effectiveness
9. Assist in the development and updating of QA operational instructions
Requirements:
1. BTEC ONC/OND in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or similar is beneficial
2. Ideally a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
4. Working knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
5. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
6. Experience with internal audits, quality assurance techniques, and calibration processes (preferred)
7. A full UK driving licence and own transport is required for this role.
