Job Title: Procurement Professional
Salary: £30,200 - £37,000 depending on experience
Contract: Full time & permanent
Location: Desford, Leicestershire
The Opportunity:
As a Procurement Professional, you will process requisitions and provide support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost, price analyses and contract/purchase order generation.
What you will do:
As a Procurement Professional, you are accountable for, but not limited to:
1. Developing improvement plans to support buyers & professionals related to Response Time, Lean Targets Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) to enable optimal and efficient operations.
2. Performing analysis and maintenance of assigned processes that produce output excellence, builds expertise for the assigned process area, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts.
3. Supporting customers and customer proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection.
4. Performing analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives.
What You Can Demonstrate:
1. Data-driven Decision Making: Understands major considerations and issues, differentiating it from traditional decision making, and identifying key objectives in gathering and analysing data to achieve data driven goals.
2. Effective Communications: Provides constructive feedback focused on behaviours, listens without defensiveness, delivers clear presentations and reports, and avoids unnecessary technical jargon, whilst working with teams across departments to achieve data driven goals.
3. Procurement knowledge: Outlines major steps and critical paths in the purchasing cycle, describes key materials, products, or services purchased, and identifies essential tools for maintaining procurement information and records.
4. Purchasing Tasks and Activities: Identifies tools for maintaining procurement information, major types of products or services purchased, and explains basic concepts and responsibilities of purchasing tasks and activities.
Top Candidates will have:
1. Solid understanding of the purchasing process, including supplier selection and onboarding, Request for Quotation (RFQ), and receipt of goods.
2. Strong problem-solving skills paired with exceptional attention to detail.
3. Skilled in gathering and analysing data to support strategic business decisions and align with organizational objectives.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power BI, ERP Systems, and similar applications.
5. Foundational knowledge of project management principles to effectively plan, organize, monitor, and manage workload ensuring successful project execution.
6. Understanding of the operational aspects of goods and materials movement; capable of anticipating, managing, and optimizing the flow of supplies and inventory.
